MECHANICS SPECIAL - Need to sell ASAP
In xxxx a 36ft Country Coach was a very top of the line motor home. It sold new for $129,000. Of course the years have passed but it is still a well-built motor home needing some mechanical repair and TLC.
Here's the good stuff: It has tile floor in the bathroom, parquet in the kitchen, a Corian counter, instant hot water system and more. It has a built-in stereo system (Got any cassettes?) that needs updating. It has a convection oven/microwave and ice-maker. It comes with a rooftop satellite dish. All the cabinets are oak. It has Alcoa aluminum rims on 19.5" tires. They look like they have plenty of life in them. There's a place you could easily put a flat screen TV.
Repairs: It needs a new (or used) refrigerator and main awning arms. (It was vandalized before it got to CA.) It needs a complete tune-up and possible carburetor rebuilding. The coach has only 24,000 miles. See below for more details. It was stored for 18 mo's in California at the property I used to lease. I couldn't find the guy that stored it with me. I had to run a lien sale to get title. The lien sale title is clean. I was going to live it once I got title. It's very comfortable. In Orange County, California it is too expensive. I was going to move to Southern Oregon on the Rogue Rive for about $275 a month. (Rain is only about 3" more than it is here.)
It's going to take a little effort and money to get it registered in California. It needs a smog waiver. That will be easy since the smog pump isn't on the engine I think it's in one of storage compartments) The previous owner (the guy that stored it with me) had put a used engine in the coach and never got the details done before he left. The other problem is that the previous owner didn't file a non-op certificate with the state and they say there's almost a $xxxx in back fee's to be paid before it can be registered. I'm not out to take advantage of anyone.
It runs but is rough. As I said it needs a full tune up and possible carburetor rebuild. I'm absolutely no mechanic so I'm repeating what a friend of mine said. It has a brand new alternator that I just had re-manufactured. I am having a wiring problem getting the current to the brand new battery. I've tried to trace the wiring but can't find the problem. (That much I can do) I can't make any more disclosure than this. Oops...almost posted without this....the 6.5KW Onan generator needs rings and the coach batteries might need replacing. Like I said it's a mechanics special. You can get it for cheap dollars.
Once fixed up it should run well and go down the road. It has air bag suspension, an onboard compressor, 4 hydraulic jacks, a Gear-vendor system, an electric fuel pump plus more. It should be an easy ride.
That's full disclosure. Medical circumstances have kept me in OC or I'd have relocated to Oregon, as I said, with the motorhome as my home (once it got fixed up). I don't like selling it but with medical bills it's necessary. You can see the size and the 80's interior. marked way down to $xxxx or best offer.
